Results for the Budget Vote and BOE Election
The Marcellus Central School District's $40.2 million budget passed with a vote of 381 yes and 182 no on Tuesday.
The budget called for a 3.2 percent increase in spending over 2022-23 and carries a 2.5 percent tax levy increase.
Voters also approved the second proposition on the ballot, which is to purchase two 66-passenger buses, one 30-passenger school bus with a wheelchair lift, and one minivan. The final tally was 388 yes and 172 no.
A third proposition for funding and use of capital reserves passed with a vote of 398 yes and 164 no.
The fourth proposition for the library levy was approved with a vote of 394 yes and 169 no.
Two members were re-elected to the Board of Education. Shawn Edie received 485 votes and Christine Shea received 479 votes.
