May 15, 2019 -- Marcellus residents on May 21 will elect three members of the Board of Education. The following three candidates filed petitions with the district office by the April 22 deadline. Those elected will each serve a three-year term beginning July 1, 2019, and ending June 30, 2022.
Michael Bristol, of Marcellus, is seeking a first term on the Board of Education. A district resident for 44 years, he is the publicist for Syracuse University men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim, football coach Dino Baber and lacrosse coach John Desko. He also hosts three ESPN radio programs and serves as vice president of operation for the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation.
He has a 5-year-old son, Blake, in kindergarten at KCH. Mr. Bristol is a Marcellus CSD alumnus and studied broadcasting and communications at State University College at Brockport.
“I’ve been a Marcellus resident my entire life,” Mr. Bristol says. “I have a tremendous respect and commitment to the Marcellus School District. I grew up in the village and am excited to give back in any way I can and serve. I hope to serve as an elected member to ensure our children/students, families and faculty are equipped, supported and guided for its highest achievements.”
Janine Lundrigan, of Syracuse, is seeking a third term on the Board of Education.
Ms. Lundrigan and husband Mark have four children; two are Marcellus CSD alumni, and two are still enrolled. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from SUNY Oswego and Le Moyne College, respectively, and works as a real estate agent for Howard Hanna in Camillus/Marcellus.
“I am running for school board because, as a parent and former teacher, I am interested in being involved in conversations and decisions that affect student learning and opportunities for success both in and out of the classroom,” Ms. Lundrigan said.
Patricia "Patty" Sager, of Marcellus, is seeking a third term on the Board of Education. A district resident for 21 years, she holds a bachelor’s degree in social studies from State University College at Fredonia and currently serves as vice president of the Marcellus board.
